Does it mean you have been away from home too long when you watch a film that was shot in your home town, just to catch the briefest glimpse of Melbourne town, and you can barely understand the actors with their ultra-ocker accents?
Can anyone explain why everyone in Australia has morphed into a Steve Irwin-alike since I left?!

If you want to see glimpses of Melbourne on film, look out for Alkinos Tsilimidos' Em4Jay. My review of it is on IMDB. It's my equal favourite Australian film of all time (the other being The Boys).
BTW, I liked The Magician, and went to an advance screening with a Q&A session with the director/actor. Very interesting. Obviously low budget, but well done under the circumstances.
